Bio

Me and a first nature teacher on the family farm outside Omaha, Nebraska. I share nature lessons that I learned at age 8 with readers.

Books opened new worlds to me. When I was a kid, some of my favorite books were Little Women, Nancy Drew, Wuthering Heights, and Jane Eyre. Later I turned to Willa Cather, Sinclair Lewis, Faulkner, and Hemingway. Books opened my mind to a magical world.

Nature and the outdoors charged me with wonder. I rode horses and became a rodeo princess. Riding Cheyenne, my quarter horse, in the wide opens space of Eastern Oregon gave me a vision of limitless imagination. Now I’m an unofficial ambassador to get the young and the old outdoors and connect with nature.

Books and nature influenced my desire to become a writer. This is why I author books to inspire young and old to read lots of books and explore their world and the outside world with new eyes.

My goal to write books inspires children to grow in their love of reading. These authors explain some of the best reasons why children need to read.

““I have a passion for teaching kids to become readers, to become comfortable with a book, not daunted. Books shouldn’t be daunting, they should be funny, exciting and wonderful; and learning to be a reader gives a terrific advantage.”―Roald Dahl

“Be awesome! Be a book nut!” —Dr. Seuss

“Books are uniquely portable magic.” —Stephen King
